Saturday 16th July 2011 saw the successful running of the annual 2.5km round-the-head swim in Clogherhead by the Drogheda Masters Swim Club. The swim events coincide with the running of the Clogherhead Prawn Festival each year. This event has become quite popular in recent years starting with only 5 competitors 4 years ago to approx. 50 every year since then. The club also ran a new shorter race of 1km distance in the relative shelter of the harbour area called the Green Buoy Swim.
